National School Sport Week 2024

17th-23rd June 2024 is National School Sport Week, organised by the Youth Sport Trust. Started in 2008, over 5,000 UK schools and 1.5 million pupils take part each year.

The aim of National School Sport Week is to encourage schools to take a creative approach to physical education. It also helps more children to get active and enjoy exercise.

This year’s theme is ‘put the all back into football’.

Pupil health and fitness is incredibly important, both physically and mentally. Read our great blog post on how encouraging your pupils to lead a more active life can help to improve attendance and lead to greater pupil success.

To get involved with this year’s National School Sport Week, register your school or nursery and don’t forget to share what you’re up to on social media, using the hashtags #NSSW and #CelebratePE. We’ll be keeping an eye out for your great National School Sport Week photos.

Whether you’re organising football tournaments, orienteering, climbing, running races or simply having fun playing games on the school field, we hope you all have a wonderful sporty week. If you’re taking part, let us know how you’re celebrating this fantastic event in the comments section below.
