PTS was established back in 1995, by our Chairman, Alan Lucas. Alan was a full time teacher when he started PTS and the first products Alan created were teaching guides for Science. After colleagues kept asking him to produce guides for them too, he decided to make this into a business, working day and night to grow the business. This then led to other suggestions from teachers and the first of the stickers were designed. The smiley face stickers are still in the product range over 20 years later.
In 2011 Alan made a conscious effort to take time off from the day to day running of the business and promoted Karen White to Managing Director. Karen manages the day to day running of PTS and is supported by a team of managers for different areas of the business – Lucy Swift - Finance Manager and Andrew Bradley - Despatch Manager. Each of the managers has a team of people, and everyone in their teams takes pride in every aspect of customer service and the products PTS offer. Since those early days, when the company was operated out of Alan's attic, the company has grown to occupy 6 buildings and employs over 25 people. In April 2013 the company moved to new premises to bring everyone together under one roof. These new premises are more than double the size of all the buildings we have at the moment. Despite the size of the company it still has the same 'family feel'.
All products Primary Teaching Services sell are designed inhouse, by the design and marketing team, following suggestions from teachers. The only exception are the Pedagogs Pencils and a couple of items in the stationery and sports range. PTS believes in supplying products of the highest quality standards, whilst still representing great value for money.
