Safer Internet Day

Safer Internet Day

Safer Internet Day is taking place on Tuesday 6th February 2024, offering the opportunity to focus on both the creative and positive things that children and young people are doing online, as well as the role that we all play in helping to create a positive internet environment.

It’s coordinated by the UK Safer Internet Centre. The idea of internet safety day is to be able to encourage and motivate pupils to stay safe while on the internet; from apps and popular websites to social media and the emergence of AI technologies. The aim is to educate children and young people in the classroom on how to stay safe online whilst also making the internet a positive place.

You can help promote safer internet day in your school and help educate your pupils by taking part. You can click here to find education packs for both Primary, Secondary and information packs for parents.

Packs contain:

  • Activities
  • Lessons plans
  • Posters
  • Fact Sheets
  • Leaflets and more…

  • You can download these resources for free and start educating your pupils on how to communicate safely and positively online. The day offers the opportunity to highlight positive uses of technology and to explore the role we all play in helping to create a better and safer online community. It calls upon young people, parents, carers, teachers, social workers, law enforcement, companies, policymakers, and wider, to join together in helping to create a better internet.
